Asian Residents Show Low Concern for Personal Data Security

A We Are Social survey reveals that globally, an average of 33.1% of respondents expressed concern about the misuse of personal data on the internet. However, only six Asian countries reported percentages above this average.

39.2% of respondents in Singapore stated concerns about the security of their personal data online. Similar statements were made by 37.9% of respondents in South Korea, 36.7% in Israel, 35.6% in Malaysia, 34.6% in the Philippines, and 34.3% in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, respondents in Japan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and India who expressed concern about the security of their personal data online were around 32%. The percentage was 30.1% in Taiwan and 29% in Saudi Arabia.

In the United Arab Emirates, 28.6% of respondents expressed concern about the security of their personal data online. Turkey was lower, at 27.7%. Thailand had the lowest percentage in Asia, with only 24.9% of respondents expressing concern about the security of their personal data online.
