Digital wallets or e-wallets are the most widely used method by Indonesian consumers for online shopping.

This is evident from a survey report conducted collaboratively by Kredivo and the Katadata Insight Center (KIC), titled "Report on the Behavior of Indonesian PayLater Users 2024".

According to the survey, in 2024, 74.1% of respondents used e-wallets for online shopping. This proportion increased significantly from the previous year, which was only 62.9%.

PayLater came in second, used by 70.5% of respondents. This payment method also increased from the previous year's 69.4%.

Despite the variety of digital payment methods, 51.1% of respondents still used cash on delivery (COD) when shopping online.

Other respondents used bank transfers or virtual accounts (47.6%), via Alfamart or Indomaret (18%), debit cards (17.2%), credit cards (9.5%), and other payment methods (0.2%).

The Kredivo and KIC survey involved a total of 6,815 respondents aged 18 and above, spread across Indonesia. Data collection was conducted online in March-April 2024.
