Indonesia's national team suffered a heavy 0-4 defeat against Australia in the Round of 16 of the 2023 Asian Cup, held at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, Doha, on Sunday night local time (28/1/2024).
An own goal by Elkan Baggot in the 11th minute gave Australia the lead in the first half.
The Socceroos then capitalized on Indonesia's defensive lapses, scoring goals through Martin Boyle (45'), Craig Goodwin (89'), and a header by Harry Souttar (90+1').
Consequently, Indonesia was eliminated from the 2023 Asian Cup, while Australia advanced to the quarter-finals to face the winner of the Saudi Arabia vs. South Korea match.
