The Institute for Management Development (IMD) has again assessed the competitiveness of several countries worldwide.
Scores were given on a scale of 0-100 points. Countries are ranked from most to least competitive.
*Databoks* compiled the 10 countries with the highest scores in this research.
First place is Denmark, which received a perfect score of 100 points. The IMD notes that this achievement is unchanged from the previous year.
Second is Ireland with 99.71 points. Third is Switzerland with 99.13 points.
"Ireland made a remarkable leap from 11th place to second. Switzerland remains in third place, after falling from second place in 2022 and first place in 2021," wrote the IMD in its report.
Fourth is the only ASEAN representative in the top list, Singapore, which received a score of 97.44%. Fifth is the Netherlands, with a score of 95.58 points.
What about Indonesia's position?
Of all the countries surveyed, Indonesia ranked 34th. Its achievement is quite far behind, having only achieved a score of 70.75 points.
At least 64 countries were assessed in this competitiveness index.
The aim of this research is to analyze and rank several countries to create and maintain an environment that supports business competitiveness.
"We assume that wealth generation occurs at the company level, both private and state-owned, which in this research is called 'business competitiveness'," wrote the IMD.
The assessment is based on four sectors: economic performance; government efficiency; business efficiency; and infrastructure. From these four sectors, 336 assessment and ranking criteria were further developed.
