This is evident from a survey report by QuitGamble.com, a company providing services for gambling addiction treatment.

During the period of June 2023 – January 2024, QuitGamble.com surveyed 3,320 gambling addicts from various countries who used their services.

83% of these addicted respondents gambled online, and 73% had debt problems.

The majority, or 72%, also admitted to being addicted to playing slot machines.

Slot machine gambling generally involves using a picture-spinning machine. The gambler inserts coins into the machine and then pulls a lever to spin a series of pictures. If the pictures stop in a specific combination or sequence, the player can win a cash prize.

This type of gambling machine is commonly found in casinos. However, with digital advancements, slot machine gambling can now also be played online.

Other games favored by gambling addicts in this survey include casino games (live casino games) such as blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and so on.

There were also those addicted to sports betting, scratch tickets, lotteries, e-sports betting, and even horse racing betting.
