Erling Haaland has been crowned the top scorer in the English Premier League for a 38-game season. He achieved this feat after scoring one goal for Manchester City in their 4-1 victory over Arsenal in the 33rd week of the league at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
This goal against Arsenal brought Haaland's Premier League goal tally for the season to 33. The Norwegian striker broke Mohamed Salah's record for most goals in a single Premier League season with the same match format.
Previously, Salah scored 32 goals with Liverpool in the 2017-2018 Premier League season. With Manchester City having seven games remaining this season, Haaland still has a great opportunity to further extend his record.
"@ErlingHaaland now holds the record for most goals by any player in a 38-game #PL season!" tweeted @PremierLeague on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
