Bagnaia Firmly at the Top of the 2022 MotoGP Standings, Can Quartararo Overtake Him?

Fabio Quartararo's chances of becoming the 2022 MotoGP world champion seem increasingly slim. This is evident from the provisional MotoGP 2022 standings after the 19th round, where Quartararo has only accumulated 235 points.

Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia is firmly at the top of the provisional MotoGP standings with a total of 258 points. The rider nicknamed 'Pecco' gained an additional 25 points from his victory at the Malaysian MotoGP held at the Sepang Circuit on Sunday (23/10/2022).

Thus, Quartararo and Bagnaia have a points difference of 23. Only one race remains in this racing season: the MotoGP Valencia in Spain, to be held on November 6, 2022.

Quartararo doesn't seem too concerned about his chances of winning this season. However, he still hopes to win the final race in Spain next month.

"You only have one goal, which is victory. There are many riders who can fight for victory, but I will enjoy Valencia and see the final result," said Quartararo, as quoted from *Crash.net*, Monday (24/10/2022).
