Arkhan Kaka Heats Up the Race for Top Scorer at the 2023 U-17 World Cup

Indonesian national team player, Arkhan Kaka, is vying for the top scorer title in the 2023 U-17 World Cup. He is closing in on the top spot in the under-17 world football competition's top scorer list.

Arkhan Kaka saved the Indonesian U-17 national team after scoring a goal in a 1-1 draw against Panama in their second Group A match at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT), Surabaya, on Monday, November 13, 2023, WIB.

The Persis Solo striker scored the equalizer with a header from a Welber Jardim cross at the start of the second half in the 54th minute.

Arkhan's goal against Panama brings his total to two goals. In the previous match, the player from Blitar, East Java, also scored a goal in a 1-1 draw against Ecuador in the opening match on Friday, November 10, 2023.

As a result, his two goals put him on par with six players from other countries: Amirbek Saidov (Uzbekistan), Justin Oboavwoduo (England), Amara Diouf (Senegal), Nimfasha Berchimas (United States), Leenhan Romero (Venezuela), and Michael Bermudez (Ecuador).

These seven players are only one goal behind the current top scorer in the U-17 World Cup, Mamadou Doumbia. The Malian player has scored a total of three goals from two matches.
