The 10 Highest-Paid Female Athletes in the World in 2022

Forbes has released its list of the world's highest-paid female athletes in 2022. Tennis player Naomi Osaka topped the list with earnings of US$51.1 million, or Rp798.79 billion (at an exchange rate of Rp15,632/US$).

The Japanese tennis player earned US$1.1 million on the court and US$50 million off the court. Despite suffering injuries throughout the year, her sports portfolio remains the best.

"Naomi Osaka is also busy as an entrepreneur, having co-founded a skincare line, a production company, a talent agency, and this month she invested in a pickleball team," Forbes stated in its report on Thursday, December 22, 2022.

Serena Williams came in second with US$41.3 million in earnings, comprising US$300,000 on the court and US$41 million off the court. Although she had been rumored to be retiring, Serena Williams clarified that she would be returning to the world of tennis.

When not playing tennis, the 41-year-old female athlete is a businesswoman in a venture capital firm with investments in around 70 startups and topical pain relief product companies. Most recently, Serena Williams also made a cameo appearance in the new film *Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery*.
