The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) survey results show that the electability of presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto and Ganjar Pranowo is equally strong in the *top of mind* simulation.
LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan stated that in the presidential election *top of mind* simulation, Prabowo received 20% of the vote, while Ganjar received 19.9%.
“Prabowo and Ganjar are equally strong in the *top of mind* simulation, with a difference of 0.1%,” said Djayadi in an online press conference on the LSI YouTube account, Tuesday (11/7/2023).
Meanwhile, Anies Baswedan ranked fourth with 9.6% of the vote. The electability of the former Governor of DKI Jakarta is below Joko Widodo (Jokowi) with an electability of 10.3%.
Similarly, in the 19-name simulation, Djayadi said that the LSI survey also found that Prabowo received the highest vote with 25.3%, followed by Ganjar with 25.1%, and Anies Baswedan with 15.4%. “So, the difference between Prabowo and Ganjar is only 0.2%,” said Djayadi.
However, the gap between Prabowo and Ganjar is more apparent in the three-name simulation. Prabowo recorded an electability of 35.8%, followed by Ganjar with 32.2%, and Anies with 21.4%.
This means that Prabowo is 3.6% ahead of Ganjar. According to Djayadi, this figure is quite good but has not yet reached twice the survey's margin of error or 6%. “So, absolutely (Prabowo) is ahead, but statistically they are the same (as Ganjar),” said Djayadi.
This LSI survey involved 1,242 respondents aged 17 years and older or already married. The survey was conducted from July 1-8, 2023, and published on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
Sample selection was conducted using the *random digit dialing (RDD)* method, which is a technique of selecting samples through the random generation of telephone numbers, followed by validation and screening. The margin of error for this survey is estimated to be around 2.8% with a 95% confidence level, assuming simple random sampling.
