Several national political figures are vying for votes in the North Sumatra I electoral district (Dapil) in the 2024 DPR General Election.
These include the Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasonna Laoly, Prananda Surya Paloh, and former Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Tifatul Sembiring.
Dapil Sumut I encompasses the Deli Serdang, Serdang Bedagai, Medan City, and Tebing Tinggi City regions. There are 10 DPR seats contested in this area.
Based on the General Election Commission (KPU) real count as of Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at 1:00 AM WIB, the provisional vote count in Dapil Sumut I is led by Sofyan Tan.
The member of the DPR RI Commission X has garnered 36,988 votes. This achievement surpasses his colleague in the PDI-P, Yasonna Laoly, who is currently ranked seventh with 13,398 votes.
Second place is occupied by Musa Pajekshah, a Golkar cadre and former Deputy Governor of North Sumatra (2018-2023), who garnered 30,508 votes.
Meutya Hafid follows in third place with 29,730 votes. Currently, Meutya still serves as a leader of Commission I of the DPR RI.
Meanwhile, Prananda Surya Paloh, son of Nasdem Chairman Surya Paloh, lags behind in sixth place with 16,596 votes. However, he holds the leading position among other Nasdem cadres.
