The North Sulawesi Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Received 260 Reports of Election Violations in 2019

The Indonesian Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) recorded 260 reports of alleged violations of the 2019 General Election in North Sulawesi. Of this number, 41 reports originated from Manado City.

Thirty-one reports of alleged 2019 election violations originated from the Siau Tagulandang Biaro Islands Regency. There were also 25 reports of alleged 2019 election violations from East Bolaang Mongondow.

Alleged 2019 election violations from South Minahasa and Bolaang Mongondow numbered 22 and 21 reports respectively. Furthermore, there were 19 reports from the Sangihe Islands.

Meanwhile, the fewest alleged 2019 election violations originated from Minahasa, with seven reports. Above that was North Minahasa with eight reports of alleged 2019 election violations.

By type, the majority of alleged 2019 election violations in North Sulawesi were administrative, namely 68 reports. This was followed by violations of unknown type, and neutrality and code of ethics issues, with 64 and 54 reports respectively.

The parties most frequently reported in the 2019 elections in North Sulawesi were legislative candidates (73 individuals), followed by election officials (61 individuals), civil servants (57 individuals), and political party members (29 individuals).
