Awareness of this RUU among the Indonesian public remains low. According to a Kompas Research and Development (Litbang Kompas) poll, only 23% of respondents were sufficiently informed about the Asset Seizure RUU.

Despite the widespread lack of awareness, the majority, or 94.2%, of respondents believe the country needs specific regulations to confiscate assets obtained through crimes such as corruption and drug trafficking.

"This data is a strong signal that the public supports a restorative justice model. Because the Asset Seizure RUU doesn't just punish perpetrators, but also returns the proceeds of crime to the community," wrote Litbang Kompas.

This survey involved 514 respondents from 58 cities across 38 Indonesian provinces, selected randomly according to the population proportion in each province.

Data collection was conducted from May 19-22, 2025, through telephone interviews. The survey's margin of error is approximately 4.25%, with a 95% confidence level, under conditions of simple random sampling.
