Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to Become State Institution with Highest Positive Image by Early 2025

According to a Kompas Research and Development (Litbang Kompas) survey conducted in January 2025, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) had the highest positive public image among state institutions. This was stated by 94.2% of respondents.

Next was the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), viewed favorably by 81.6% of respondents, followed by the General Election Commission (KPU) at 80.3%, the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) at 73.6%, and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at 72.6%.

Litbang Kompas noted an improvement in the public's perception of the KPK. This is attributed to the newly inaugurated leadership and Supervisory Board, which have instilled new hope in its anti-corruption efforts.

"However, this renewed hope will be challenged by several issues and cases currently being handled by the KPK," wrote a Litbang Kompas researcher in their report on Friday, January 24, 2025.

The Attorney General's Office had a 70% positive image, followed by the Constitutional Court at 69.1%, the Supreme Court at 69%, the House of Representatives (DPR) at 67%, and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) with the lowest at 65.7%.

"Ultimately, strengthening the KPK, Polri, and other law enforcement institutions will be a challenge for the Prabowo-Gibran administration going forward," wrote Litbang Kompas.

The Litbang Kompas survey involved 1,000 randomly selected respondents using a stratified systematic sampling method across 38 Indonesian provinces.

Data collection was conducted from January 4-10, 2025, through face-to-face interviews. The survey's margin of error is approximately 3.10% with a 95% confidence level, under conditions of simple random sampling.
