An Indonesian Political Indicator poll reveals a series of problems faced by residents of West Java. The majority of respondents stated that the main problems in West Java are the difficulty of finding work (29.1%) and the high cost of living (9%).

"So, the two biggest problems considered urgent by West Java residents are more related to economic issues," said Indikator's Senior Researcher Bawono Kumoro in his online survey presentation on Monday (14/10/2024).

Furthermore, West Java residents highlighted issues such as waste management, poverty, traffic congestion, flooding, and security. Others emphasized air pollution, clean water availability, corruption, high education costs, and other issues as shown in the attached graph.

The Indikator survey also found that 51.6% of respondents rated the current economic conditions in West Java as moderate. Meanwhile, 32.7% of respondents felt that this year's economic conditions were bad, and another 15.2% rated them as poor.

This survey involved 1,200 respondents in West Java, with the criteria being 17 years of age or older, or married. Respondents were selected using a multistage random sampling method.

Data collection was conducted from October 3-12, 2024, through face-to-face interviews. The survey's margin of error is approximately 2.9% at a 95% confidence level.
