Findings from the Ipsos Global *Ipsos Health Service Report* 2024 indicate that mental health is one of the most significant health concerns for people worldwide.
"Although COVID-19 is a respiratory illness, perhaps the biggest long-term impact of this pandemic on public health is mental health," Ipsos wrote in its report on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
A recorded 45% of respondents across 31 countries considered mental health the most worrying health issue. Cancer followed in second place as the biggest health concern for 38% of respondents.
Stress came in third as the most concerning health issue for 31% of respondents.
Furthermore, global health concerns are related to lifestyle factors such as obesity, substance abuse (drugs and alcohol), diabetes, and smoking.
Below is a breakdown of the 14 most concerning health issues according to Ipsos Global respondents in 2024:

8. Alcohol Abuse: 16%
9. Smoking: 12%

12. Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs): 3%
13. Hospital-Acquired Infections: 3%
14. Other Diseases: 2%
This Ipsos survey involved 23,667 respondents under 75 years of age across 31 countries between July 26 and August 9, 2024. Specifically in Indonesia, 500 respondents aged 21-74 participated.
