LSI Survey: Ganjar Pranowo Receives the Most Votes Among 10 Presidential Candidates for 2024

The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) poll shows that Ganjar Pranowo ranks first as the choice of the public based on a simulation of the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres 2024). Out of 10 names simulated, the Governor of Central Java received 29.2% of the vote.

Below Ganjar is Prabowo Subianto, the Minister of Defense, with 19.4% of the vote. Third is Anies Baswedan, former Governor of DKI Jakarta, with 16.5% of the vote.

In fourth place is Ridwan Kamil, Governor of West Java, with 8.7%. Fifth is Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, with 3.4%.

"The other names are lower," said Djayadi Hanan, Executive Director of LSI, in the research results published on Sunday (January 22nd).

The following is a simulation of the 10 names chosen by the public if the general election were held at the time the survey was conducted:

The survey population consisted of Indonesian citizens aged 17 years and older or who are married and have a landline or cellular phone, approximately 83% of the total national population.

Sample selection was conducted using the random digit dialing (RDD) method. "RDD is a technique for selecting samples through the random generation of telephone numbers," said Djayadi.

Using the RDD technique, a sample of 1,221 respondents was selected through a process of random telephone number generation, validation, and screening. Interviews with respondents were conducted by telephone by trained interviewers, between January 7th and 11th, 2023.

The survey's margin of error is estimated at ±2.9% at a 95% confidence level, assuming simple random sampling.
