Gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidate pair number 2, Rusli Habibie-Idris Rahim, won the 2017 Gorontalo Provincial Head Election (Pilkada) after 100 percent of the data had been entered. Based on the General Election Commission's calculation of Form C1 (real count), Rusli-Idris obtained 326,033 votes, or 50.65 percent of the total votes. With this significant difference, it is almost certain that this incumbent candidate pair will lead Gorontalo again for the 2017-2021 period.
Meanwhile, candidate pair number 1, Hana Hasanah Fadel and Tonny S. Junus, only received 166,431 votes, or 25.86 percent. Candidate pair number 3, Zainuddin Hasan-Adhan Dambea, garnered only 151,201 votes, or 23.49 percent. Rusli is a relative of B.J. Habibie, former President of Indonesia. Hana is the wife of Fadel Muhammad, a Golkar Party politician.
Rusli-Idris won all six regions with over 40 percent of the vote, with the highest percentage in North Gorontalo at 70.3 percent. The Gorontalo Pilkada took place in 1,979 polling stations, and all have submitted their vote count results. Voter turnout in the Gorontalo Pilkada reached 81.6 percent.
