The Transportation and Warehousing Sector Grew by 25.10 Percent in the Second Quarter of 2021

The Central Statistics Agency reported that Indonesia's economy experienced positive growth of 7.07% based on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant 2010 prices in the second quarter of 2021. The value in this quarter reached Rp 2,772.8 trillion compared to the second quarter of 2020 (Year-on-Year/Y-on-Y).

After successfully emerging from the economic recession, all sectors recorded growth in the second quarter of this year. Of the 17 main sectors, 9 sectors grew above the national GDP growth. However, 8 other sectors still experienced growth below the national GDP.

The 2010 constant price GDP of the transportation sector in the second quarter of 2021 grew by 25.1% (Y-on-Y) to Rp 99.2 trillion. This growth was the highest compared to other sectors.

Then, the GDP of the accommodation and food service sector grew by 21.58% (Y-on-Y) to Rp 78.3 trillion. Other service sectors also grew by 11.97% (Y-on-Y) to Rp 49.8 trillion.

Meanwhile, the agricultural sector recorded the lowest growth, at only 0.38% (Y-on-Y) reaching Rp 376.2 trillion. This was followed by the real estate sector, which only grew by 2.82% (Y-on-Y) to Rp 82.9 trillion.
