The Manufacturing Sector Remains a Key Contributor to National GDP

National economic performance can be observed from the development of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). From the production side, the GDP at current prices (ADHB) shows the economic structure based on business sectors. Meanwhile, the GDP at constant 2010 prices (ADHK) shows the economic growth rate of each business sector as a reflection of development achievements.

The Indonesian economy in the 2018-2021 period, measured based on GDP at current prices and GDP at constant prices, showed an increasing trend, although it experienced a decline in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Economic recovery post-Covid-19 has been shown since the second quarter of 2021, with both ADHB and ADHK GDP increasing to pre-pandemic levels.

The structure of the Indonesian economy by business sector did not change significantly during the 2018-2021 period. The Manufacturing Industry sector contributed the most in each quarter, with an average contribution of 19.66 percent.

In addition, the Wholesale and Retail Trade, Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles sector contributed an average of 12.97 percent, followed by the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sector with an average contribution of 12.64 percent.
