Bojonegoro Regency's Regional Budget (PDRB) reached Rp 70 trillion in 2020.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the regional gross domestic product (RGDP) at current prices in Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, reached Rp 70.26 trillion in 2020, down 4.06% compared to the previous year's Rp 73.23 trillion. Excluding the oil and gas (O&G) sector, Bojonegoro's RGDP only reached Rp 39.98 trillion.

Bojonegoro's largest economic contribution came from the mining sector, reaching Rp 30.51 trillion or 43.42% of the total RGDP. This was followed by the agricultural sector, contributing Rp 9.96 trillion or 14.18%.

Furthermore, the RGDP from the wholesale and retail trade sector reached Rp 6.34 trillion or 9.02%. The construction sector contributed Rp 5.45 trillion or 7.76% to the RGDP.

Meanwhile, the RGDP at constant prices in Bojonegoro amounted to Rp 69.7 trillion in 2020, contracting by 0.4% from the previous year's Rp 69.99 trillion. Without the O&G sector, Bojonegoro's RGDP at constant prices in 2020 was Rp 28 trillion, down 1.09% compared to the previous year.

Bojonegoro's RGDP at constant prices experienced growth of up to 17.42% to Rp 46.89 trillion in 2015. This coincided with the growth of the mining sector's RGDP by 31.3% to Rp 24.02 trillion.

Bojonegoro's economy even grew by 21.95% the following year. This condition was in line with the growth of the mining sector by 37.6% in 2016.

Bojonegoro is known for the Banyu Urip oil field in the Cepu Block, which produces 210,000 barrels per day (bpd). This amount is equivalent to 30% of national oil production.

In addition, Bojonegoro has the Jambaran Tiung Biru natural gas field, which is estimated to have a production capacity of 192 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd). The project is targeted to operate at the end of 2021.
