The Price Movement of Precious Metals in Mid-February 2026

Precious metals have once again become the focus of global investors amid economic and geopolitical uncertainties. From the beginning of January to February 12, 2026, the price of gold recorded a significant increase.

The sharp rise in precious metal prices, particularly those of gold and silver, reflects investors' growing interest in safe haven assets.

According to Yahoo Finance data, on Thursday (February 13, 2026) trading at the Commodity Exchange/ComEx in the United States, the price of gold for the April 2026 futures contract closed at US$5,022.0/troy ounce. This price equates to Rp2.98 million/gram at an exchange rate of Rp16,826/US dollar.

Accumulated since the beginning of the year (year to date/ytd), the price of gold has risen by 16.1%. Compared to February 13, 2025, the increase even reaches 71.64% (year on year/yoy).

Movements of Other Precious Metals

The price of platinum for the April 2026 contract closed at US$2,071/troy ounce or around Rp1.23 million/gram. This year, the price of platinum has risen slightly by 1.8% (ytd), but surged by 100.37% (yoy) annually.

The price of palladium for the March 2026 contract closed at US$1,697.5/troy ounce or equivalent to Rp1 million/gram. Its price rose by 4.19% (ytd) and surged by 72.76% (yoy).

The price of silver for the March 2026 contract closed at US$77.85/troy ounce or around Rp44,840/gram. This means that over the year, it has risen by 11% (ytd), and surged by 138.44% (yoy) annually.
