"Spider-Man: No Way Home" Achieves Second Highest-Grossing Film Debut of All Time at the Box Office

The film "Spider-Man: No Way Home" raked in US$260.13 million, or approximately Rp3.71 trillion, in its opening weekend in the United States (using an exchange rate of US$1 = Rp14,289). This places the film second in the ranking of highest-grossing opening weekends of all time, according to Box Office Mojo.

This achievement by the Sony-produced film also broke the record for films released during the Covid-19 pandemic. No other film released during the pandemic had achieved such a high domestic opening weekend gross.

The top spot for highest domestic opening weekend of all time is still held by "Avengers: Endgame," which grossed US$357.11 million.

"No Way Home" displaced "Avengers: Infinity War," which now ranks third, with a domestic opening weekend gross of US$257.69 million.

Following are "Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens" and "Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi," with domestic opening weekend grosses of US$247.96 million and US$220 million respectively. "Jurassic World" and "The Avengers" follow with domestic opening weekend grosses of US$208.80 million and US$207.43 million respectively.
