"Everything Everywhere All at Once" (EEAAO) swept seven awards from eleven nominations at the 2023 Oscars, making it the year's biggest winner. Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, and starring Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis, it won in the categories of Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Film Editing.
The film follows Evelyn Wang, a Chinese immigrant and laundromat owner, who connects to other universes and must use her skills to defeat Jobu Tupaki, a being intent on destroying the multiverse.
"All Quiet on the Western Front," directed by Edward Berger, came in second with four awards. "The Whale," starring Brendan Fraser, secured third place with two wins at the 95th Academy Awards.
Several other films won a single Oscar each: "Top Gun: Maverick," "RRR," "Women Talking," "Avatar: The Way of Water," "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse," "The Elephant Whisperers," "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," "An Irish Goodbye," "Navalny," and "Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio."
