Queen Elizabeth II, the Most Beloved Member of the British Royal Family

Queen Elizabeth II, the leader of the United Kingdom, passed away at the age of 96 on Thursday, September 8, 2022.

"The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family," said Prince Charles in a press release on the official website of the British Monarchy, Thursday, September 8, 2022.

"We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world," he continued.

According to the official website of the British Monarchy, Queen Elizabeth II held the throne for the longest period in British history.

"For over 70 years, Her Majesty The Queen led the Commonwealth, connecting over two billion people across the globe," the website explained.

According to an Ipsos survey, Queen Elizabeth II was indeed the most popular member of the British Royal Family among its citizens.

Many citizens also favored Prince William and his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, also known as Kate Middleton.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles, who became heir to the throne after the Queen's death, was favored by fewer citizens, as shown in the graph.

This survey was conducted by Ipsos among 2,055 British citizens aged 16-75 years. The survey was conducted online in March 2022.
