PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) produced 12.235 million tons of fertilizer in 2021. This production realization is equivalent to 100.01% of the company's work budget plan (RKAP) of 12.234 million tons.
Indonesia's fertilizer production has shown an upward trend. However, in 2021, production slightly decreased by 0.2% compared to 2020, which reached 12.26 million tons.
The total fertilizer production in 2021 comprised 7.96 million tons of Urea, 3.17 million tons of NPK, 325.13 thousand tons of SP-36, 759.1 thousand tons of ZA, and 14.02 thousand tons of ZK.
This fertilizer production came from five subsidiaries: PT Petrokimia Gresik, PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, PT Pupuk Kujang Cikampek, PT Pupuk Kaltim, and PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda.
According to Bob Indiarto, Director of Production at Pupuk Indonesia, one of the successes of Pupuk Indonesia Group in achieving its production target in 2021 was due to the implementation of manufacturing excellence and a digital fertilizer system to monitor all aspects of factory performance and support production performance, such as improving raw material efficiency and maintenance costs, increasing reliability, and reducing plant shutdowns.
Furthermore, Pupuk Indonesia Group also recorded non-fertilizer production of 7.28 million tons in 2021, equivalent to 101.82% of the targeted RKAP of 7.15 million tons. Specifically, non-fertilizer production consisted of 6.15 million tons of ammonia, 88.6 thousand tons of sulfuric acid, 191.9 thousand tons of phosphoric acid, 7.27 thousand tons of ALF3, 15.87 thousand tons of HCL, and 39.85 thousand tons of CO2.
Therefore, the total production of Pupuk Indonesia Group, both fertilizer and non-fertilizer, reached 19.52 million tons. This figure is equivalent to 100.68% of the target of 19.38 million tons.
With this achievement, Bob Indiarto commended the five subsidiaries of Pupuk Indonesia, the fertilizer producers, for maintaining their productivity each year. He stated that fertilizer productivity will continue to be improved to support the national food security program.
