Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Price on the Rotterdam Commodity Exchange Remains at US$1,400 per Metric Ton (Tuesday, June 28, 2022)

The price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange this morning until 09.09 WIB was US$1,400 per metric ton, as of Tuesday, June 28, 2022. This represents a -3.45% decrease compared to the closing price on Friday, June 24, 2022, which was traded at US$1,400 per metric ton. Today's CPO trading on the Rotterdam commodity exchange is expected to range between US$1,400 and US$1,440 per metric ton.

According to investing.com, the price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has fallen by 10.11% in the past week. Compared to the previous 30 days, the price is still lower by -11.95%.

Before Russia's attack on Ukraine, the CPO price on the Rotterdam spot market was at US$1,640 per ton (February 23, 2022). After the invasion, the CPO price surged for two weeks.

Compared to the end of last year, which was at US$1,305 per ton, the price of palm oil has increased by 7.28% (Year to Date/YTD). Similarly, compared to the lowest point on June 16, 2021, the CPO price has surged by 43.59%.

The increase in CPO prices has also impacted the price of cooking oil in Indonesia. Cooking oil prices in various regions are above Rp 20,000 per liter. There were even periods of cooking oil shortages in the market.

However, over a one-year period, CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has actually decreased. The previous record high reached US$2,010 per metric ton.

The CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange reached its lowest point at US$1,305 per metric ton on Monday, January 10, 2022. The highest point this year was around US$2,010 per metric ton.
