Kevin Bryan Aluwi and Anthony Wiyaya, two senior executives of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), have decided to resign from their positions. Kevin was a commissioner of GoTo, while Anthony was a director of the company.
As reported by Katadata, their letters of resignation were received on February 6, 2023. RA Koesoemohadiani, GoTo's Corporate Secretary, declined to state the reasons for Kevin and Anthony's resignations.
GoTo has confirmed that it will comply with the provisions stipulated in POJK 33/2014 and the Company's Articles of Association to hold an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) and seek shareholder approval, which will be held on March 2, 2023.
"This event, according to her, will not have a detrimental impact on the company's business activities and finances," wrote Koesoemohadiani in an information disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Wednesday (February 8).
Separately, Andre Soelistyo, GoTo's President Director, stated that Kevin will resign from his position as Commissioner of the Company. However, Kevin remains a shareholder with multiple voting rights (SDHSM) in the company.
Meanwhile, Anthony Wijaya resigned from his position as GoTo's Director and will focus on GoTo's e-commerce strategy as Chief Operating Officer of Tokopedia.
So, how has GoTo's stock performed following the announcement of the senior executives' resignations?
According to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) website, over the past month (since January 10, 2023), the stock with the code GOTO reached its lowest point on January 11, 2023, at Rp94 per share.
GOTO gradually strengthened to Rp105 on January 13, 2023. Afterward, it remained relatively stable above Rp100. On February 2, 2023, it reached Rp124 per share.
However, as of today's trading (February 9, 2023), it has dropped to Rp112 per share. The IDX recorded a GOTO weakening of -6.67%.
Despite this, GOTO is among the most actively traded stocks, with a value reaching Rp544.4 billion. Its volume also reached 4.6 billion shares.
