Telkom's Net Profit Rises 13.3% in the First Half of 2021

PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) (Persero) Tbk's financial performance remained strong during the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. This is evident in Telkom's double-digit profit increase in the first half of 2021.

The state-owned corporation recorded a net profit of Rp 12.45 trillion in the first six months of 2021, a 13.3% increase compared to the same period the previous year. Telkom's earnings per share also rose from Rp 110.93 to Rp 123.69.

The increase in Telkom's net profit was driven by a 3.92% increase in company revenue to Rp 69.48 trillion in the first half of 2021. Meanwhile, net expenses increased by 3.32% to Rp 45.87 trillion in the first half of this year.

This achievement is also inseparable from the revenue of Indihome's internet business, which amounted to Rp 12.88 trillion in the first half of 2021. This figure increased by 24.21% compared to the first half of 2020, which was Rp 10.37 trillion. Indihome's revenue contribution to Telkom also increased from 15.51% to 18.54%.

During the corona pandemic, the intensity of community activities using digital technology increased, and the need for data service providers, both mobile and fixed broadband, grew. Telkom, which has the widest network in the country, benefited from this condition.

The share price of the corporation with the code TLKM closed at Rp 3,660 per share on August 31, 2021. This price increased by 7.78% compared to the end of 2020 (year to date/ytd).
