The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) strengthened by 78.41 points or 1.10% to 7,234.19 at the close of trading on Tuesday (April 30, 2024).

Based on the IDX-IC Sectoral Index, 10 out of 11 stock sectors strengthened today. The transportation sector led with a 2.07% increase, followed by the energy and basic materials sectors, which rose by 1.77% and 1.27%, respectively.

Almost all Asian regional exchanges also closed in the green this afternoon. The Nikkei index strengthened by 1.24% to 38,405.69, the Hang Seng index strengthened by 0.09% to 17,763.02, the Shanghai index weakened by 0.26% to 3,104.82, and the Straits Times index strengthened by 0.32% to 3,292.68.
