Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Price on the Rotterdam Commodity Exchange Falls to US$985 per Metric Ton (Thursday, April 27, 2023)

As of 09:09 WIB this morning, Thursday, April 27, 2023, the price of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) on the Rotterdam commodity exchange stands at US$985 per metric ton. This represents a 1.99% decrease compared to the previous day's closing price of US$1,005 per metric ton. The expected price range for CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange today is US$985 - US$1,000 per metric ton.

According to investing.com, the price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has fallen by 4.37% in the past week. Compared to the price 30 days ago, it is down by 0.51%.

Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the spot price of CPO in Rotterdam was US$1,640 per ton (February 23, 2022). Following the invasion, CPO prices surged for two weeks.

Compared to the year-end price of US$1,305 per ton, the price of palm oil has plummeted by 24.52% year-to-date (YTD). However, compared to its lowest point on June 16, 2021, the CPO price has increased by 1.03%.

The rise in CPO prices has also impacted cooking oil prices in Indonesia, with prices exceeding Rp 20,000 per liter in various regions. Cooking oil even experienced temporary shortages in the market.

Despite this, over the past year, CPO prices on the Rotterdam commodity exchange have actually declined. The previous record high reached US$1,912.5 per metric ton.

The lowest point for CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange this year was US$940 per metric ton on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. The highest point this year reached approximately US$1,065 per metric ton.
