December 2023, Average Expenditure in Central Java Rp. 1.32 Million

The average monthly per capita expenditure for food and non-food items in Central Java province was Rp. 1.32 million in 2023. This figure is up by Rp. 200,443.14 compared to the previous year's figure of Rp. 1.12 million.

Average expenditure in Central Java this December increased higher than the previous period. Historically, the province recorded its lowest growth two years ago in December 2021, at 2.95 percent. This year, the average expenditure in Central Java grew by 17.87 percent.

As stated in the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) report, the highest average expenditure growth in the province in the last ten years was 17.87 percent, and the lowest was 1.9 percent, with a downward trend in average expenditure. This year's average expenditure growth is still higher than before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Based on island, out of a total of nine provinces in Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara, Central Java's average expenditure ranks eighth. This year, growth in the province is lower than the national average.
