Unilever Indonesia Tbk distributed a final dividend of Rp2.70 trillion for the 2022 fiscal year. This means each share received a profit of Rp71.
According to *Katadata*, the consumer goods issuer had previously distributed an interim dividend of Rp69 per share, or Rp2.63 trillion from the profit distributed on December 15, 2022.
Therefore, the total interim and final dividend reached Rp140 per share for 2022. The total value reached Rp5.34 trillion, equivalent to 99.29% of the profit.
The dividend allocation was approved at the Unilever 2022 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPST).
Historically, Unilever has frequently distributed interim and final dividends exceeding Rp60.
In 2010, the interim dividend was Rp100 per share, while the final dividend was significantly higher at Rp344 per share.
In 2011, the interim dividend increased to Rp250 per share and the final dividend was Rp296 per share. For 2012, the interim dividend reached Rp300 per share and the final dividend was Rp334 per share.
Over the past 12 years, the largest dividend package was given in the 2017-2018 fiscal years.
In 2017, UNVR's interim dividend was Rp410 per share and the final dividend was Rp505 per share. In 2018, the interim dividend was Rp410 per share and the final dividend was Rp775 per share.
Entering the Covid-19 pandemic, the dividends distributed decreased significantly. In 2020, the interim dividend was Rp87 per share and the final dividend was Rp100 per share.
The following year saw a further decline, with an interim dividend of Rp66 per share and a final dividend of Rp84 per share. The 2021 distribution was the smallest in the last 12 years.
UNVR recorded a net profit of Rp5.36 trillion throughout 2022. This net profit decreased by 6.83% year-on-year (yoy) compared to the same period the previous year (Rp5.75 trillion). The decrease in UNVR's net profit also caused a decline in the basic earnings per share.
