According to a survey by Saiful Mujani Research Consulting (SMRC), 23% of Indonesian respondents believe that Western NATO member countries, such as the United States and the United Kingdom, are most responsible for the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war.

"More Indonesian citizens blame the West for the Russia-Ukraine war," said Saiful Mujani in a *Bedah Politik* presentation on the SMRC TV YouTube channel on Monday, April 18, 2022.

Furthermore, 17% of respondents blamed Russia, 8% blamed Ukraine, and 52% did not know or did not answer.

The SMRC survey also recorded respondents' opinions on the Indonesian government's stance.

The results show that a majority, or 43% of respondents, want the government to take a neutral stance, 13% want the government to support Russia, and 12% want the government to support Ukraine.

This survey was conducted via telephone, involving 1,228 randomly selected respondents aged 17 or older, or married and possessing a telephone. The survey was conducted from March 22-24, 2022.
