Indonesia Among Global Stock Markets with Most IPOs in 2023

EY's *Global IPO Trends 2023* data, published by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), shows that Indonesia is among the countries with the highest number of initial public offerings (IPOs) globally in 2023.

Indonesia, via the IDX, ranks sixth out of 12 exchanges with the most global IPOs. A total of 79 companies went public between January and December 2023.

Indonesia's IPOs contributed 6% to the total global IPOs in 2023, which amounted to 1,298 companies.

India, through the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE and SME) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE and SME), ranked first with 220 companies, contributing 17% to the global total.

Shenzhen, China (Main Board and ChiNext) ranked second with 129 companies (10% of the global total). The United States, via the NASDAQ, ranked third with 105 companies (8%).

Besides Indonesia, the only other ASEAN country on the list is Thailand, through the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and MAI, with 37 companies (3%).
