Telkomsel's Net Profit Rises 0.3% to Rp 12.75 Trillion in Q1 2021

PT Telekomunikasi Seluler (Telkomsel) achieved a profit of Rp 12.75 trillion in the first half of 2021. This figure represents a slight increase of 0.3% compared to Rp 12.71 trillion in the first half of 2020. The minimal profit increase was due to a decrease in revenue.

Telkomsel's revenue decreased by 1.9% to Rp 43.17 trillion in the first half of this year, down from Rp 44.01 trillion in the first half of the previous year. Similarly, total costs decreased by 3.4% to Rp 26.25 trillion during the January-June 2021 period, compared to Rp 27.16 trillion in the same period of the previous year.

Total assets of the subsidiary of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or PT Telkom decreased by 5.7% to Rp 97.7 trillion during January-June 2021, from Rp 103.66 trillion in December 2020. Meanwhile, total liabilities increased by 34% to Rp 31.58 trillion at the end of June 2021, compared to Rp 23.59 trillion at the end of last year. Total equity decreased by 37.2% to Rp 32.11 trillion in June of this year, compared to Rp 51.09 trillion at the end of last year.

Telkomsel had 169.2 million cellular subscribers in June 2021. This figure represents a 5.7% increase from June 2020. The breakdown is as follows: 162.48 million prepaid subscribers and 6.72 million postpaid subscribers (Telkomsel Halo).

Telkomsel is a subsidiary of PT Telkom, established in 1995, with PT Telkom holding a 65% stake. The remaining 35% of Telkomsel's shares are owned by Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel).
