MotoGP racers have already reached speeds exceeding 360 km/h. However, a new rider has now challenged that record.
Brad Binder, a KTM rider, achieved a new MotoGP top speed record, breaking the previous all-time record during the MotoGP Italian Sprint Race 2023 at Mugello, Italy, on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
According to official MotoGP data, Binder's KTM RC16 reached a speed of 366.1 km/h. He achieved this speed on the 1.141 km long straight at the Mugello circuit, the longest straight on the track. The rest of the circuit consists of 15 corners.
Enea Bastianini, riding a Ducati, achieved the second-fastest speed in the same session, reaching 364.8 km/h.
Fabio Di Giannantonio, also on a Ducati, followed in third place with a top speed of 363.6 km/h in the same session.
In another session, Maverick Viñales' Aprilia RS-GP achieved a top speed of 363.6 km/h, placing him fourth.
