The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed down 87.92 points, or 1.20%, to 7,290.74 on Tuesday (February 13, 2024).

The decline is in line with a market adopting a wait-and-see approach ahead of the 2024 General Election voting day on Wednesday (February 14, 2024).

A total of 308 stocks closed lower today, followed by 245 stagnant stocks and 214 stocks that strengthened.

Regional Asian stock exchanges showed varied movement this afternoon. The Nikkei index rose 2.89% to 37,964, the Hang Seng index was stagnant at 15,746.58, the Shanghai index was stagnant at 2,865.90, and the Straits Times index rose 0.11% to 3,141.87.
