Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Price on the Rotterdam Commodity Exchange Remains at US$1,100 per Metric Ton (Tuesday, August 2, 2022)

The price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange this morning, until 09.09 WIB (Western Indonesian Time), was US$1,100 per metric ton, as of Tuesday, August 2, 2022. This CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange only moved 3.77% compared to the closing price on Sunday, July 31, 2022, which was traded at US$1,100 per metric ton. Today's CPO trading on the Rotterdam commodity exchange is expected to move in the range of US$1,100 - 1,225 per metric ton.

As shown on investing.com, the CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has fallen by 2.65% in a week. Compared to 30 days prior, the CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange is still lower by -26.67%.

Before Russia's attack on Ukraine, the CPO price on the Rotterdam spot market was still at US$1,640 per ton (February 23, 2022). After the invasion, the CPO price soared for two weeks.

Compared to the end of last year, which was still at US$1,305 per ton, the palm oil price has plummeted by -15.71% (Year to Date/YTD). Compared to the lowest point on June 16, 2021, the CPO price has surged by 12.82%.

The increase in CPO prices has also impacted the price of cooking oil in Indonesia. Cooking oil prices in various regions are above Rp 20,000 per liter. Cooking oil was even temporarily scarce in the market.

However, for the one-year data range, CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has actually experienced a decline. The previous highest record reached US$2,010 per metric ton.

The CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange reached its lowest point at US$1,040 per metric ton on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. The highest point this year was around US$2,010 per metric ton.
