Crude Palm Oil (CPO) price on the Rotterdam Commodity Exchange remains at US$ 1,205 per metric ton (Sunday, July 17, 2022)

The price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodities exchange this morning, until 09.10 WIB (Western Indonesian Time), was US$1,205 per metric ton, data as of Sunday, July 17, 2022. This CPO price on the Rotterdam commodities exchange is down 7.31% compared to the closing price on Thursday, July 14, 2022, which was traded at US$1,300 per metric ton. The CPO price on the Rotterdam commodities exchange is expected to range between US$1,205 and US$1,400 per metric ton today.

According to investing.com, the CPO price on the Rotterdam commodities exchange has fallen by 9.4% in a week. Compared to 30 days prior, the CPO price on the Rotterdam commodities exchange is still lower by 23.97%.

Before Russia's attack on Ukraine, the CPO price on the Rotterdam spot market was at US$1,640 per ton (February 23, 2022). After the invasion, the CPO price surged for two weeks.

Compared to the end of last year, which was at US$1,305 per ton, the palm oil price has plummeted by 7.66% (Year to Date/YTD). Similarly, compared to the lowest point on June 16, 2021, the CPO price has surged by 23.59%.

The increase in CPO prices has also impacted the price of cooking oil in Indonesia. Cooking oil prices in various regions are above Rp 20,000 per liter. Cooking oil was even temporarily scarce in the market.

However, for the one-year data range, CPO on the Rotterdam commodities exchange has actually decreased. The previous highest record reached US$2,010 per metric ton.

The CPO price on the Rotterdam commodities exchange reached its lowest point of US$1,205 per metric ton on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. The highest point this year was around US$2,010 per metric ton.
