Bank Mandiri's Profit Grows 20%, Reaching a New Record High

PT Bank Mandiri Tbk Persero reported a profit of Rp 18.09 trillion for the January-September 2018 period, a 20% increase compared to the same period the previous year. This nine-month profit is the highest ever recorded for the first nine months of any previous year. Similarly, the company's earnings per share (EPS) rose to Rp 387.68 from Rp 322.97 per share.

The growth in profit for this bank, traded under the code BMRI, was supported by a 4.2% increase in net interest income to Rp 40.5 trillion and an 11.4% increase in fee-based income to Rp 18.75 trillion in the first nine months of 2019. Furthermore, the company successfully suppressed operating costs, resulting in single-digit growth thanks to the consistent application of efficiency principles.

Bank Mandiri's Third-Party Funds (DPK) grew by 9.2% to Rp 831.1 trillion by the end of September 2018, compared to September of the previous year. Similarly, the assets of this government-owned bank also grew by 4.35% to Rp 1,173.64 trillion from Rp 1,124.7 trillion.
