Retail Investor Income Range in the Indonesian Capital Market in Early 2026

According to data from PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI), there were 22.97 million investors in the domestic capital market in February 2026.

Of this number, 99.76% were retail investors or individuals, while the remaining 0.24% were institutions/agencies.

In February 2026, the majority or 51.01% of retail investors had a monthly income of between Rp10 million and Rp100 million.

Then, 35.09% of investors earned less than Rp10 million; 10.59% between Rp100 million and Rp500 million; and 3.31% above Rp500 million per month.

KSEI also noted that in February 2026, as many as 38.85% of retail investors in the Indonesian capital market had a high school education or lower.

Then there were 18.70% with a bachelor's degree; 4.22% with a diploma; 2.67% with a master's degree or higher; and 36.56% with other educational statuses.

Most retail investors were workers, namely civil servants, private employees, or teachers, with a share of 48.99%.

Next, there were students (15.11%); entrepreneurs (14.49%); housewives (4.36%); and other professions (17.05%).
