South Korea Leads Asia Pacific Stock Market Gains (September 30, 2025)

South Korea led the increase in Asia Pacific stock market indices from the beginning of this year until the end of Q3 2025.

According to Yahoo Finance data, South Korea's stock market index (Kospi) closed at 3,424.6 on September 30, 2025, soaring 42.72% compared to its position on December 31, 2024 (year-to-date/ytd).

This increase was the highest in the Asia Pacific region.

Following in the rankings were the stock markets of Hong Kong, China, and Indonesia.

The IDX Composite Index (IHSG) of the Indonesia Stock Exchange closed at 8,061.06 on September 30, 2025, up 13.86% compared to its position at the end of last year (ytd).

Meanwhile, in this region, only two stock markets weakened. The deepest decline was experienced by the Philippine stock market, whose index fell 8.81% (ytd), followed by the Malaysian stock market index, which dropped 1.85% (ytd).
