Indonesia's Stock Exchange Closes Lower Amidst the Israel-Iran War (Friday, June 13, 2025)

The Indonesia Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) fell 0.53% to 7,166.06 at the close of trading on Friday (June 13, 2025).

The weakening occurred amid Israel's military strikes on several strategic Iranian sites, including nuclear facilities and missile centers.

"The IHSG closed weaker amid negative sentiment from rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and concerns about their impact on the domestic economy, while the threat of trade wars still looms," said Ratna Lim, an analyst at Phintraco Sekuritas, as reported by Antara on Friday (June 13, 2025).

Based on the IDX-IC Sectoral Index, 9 out of 11 stock sectors fell today. The technology sector fell the most, by 1.74%, followed by the transportation and financial sectors, which corrected by 1.51% and 0.98%, respectively.

The other two sectors strengthened, namely the basic materials sector, which rose 1.19%, and the industrial sector, which rose 0.17%.

According to RTI Business data, the frequency of stock trading on the domestic exchange today was 1.37 million transactions.

A total of 26.68 billion shares changed hands, with a total transaction value of Rp 15.20 trillion.

364 stocks closed lower today, 241 stocks rose, and 200 stocks were stagnant.

The stock with the code KRYA was today's top loser, falling 14.85%, followed by KOPI and JECC, which fell 14.71% and 14.70%, respectively.

Meanwhile, today's top gainer was JAWA, which soared 35%, followed by MTFN and MBSS, which rose 33.33% and 24.91%, respectively.

In line with the IHSG, Asian markets closed in the red this afternoon. The Nikkei index fell 0.89% to 37,834.25; the Hang Seng index fell 0.59% to 23,892.56; the Strait Times index fell 0.27% to 3,911.42; and the Shanghai index fell 0.75% to 3,377.
