The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed down 1.42% to 6,734.83 on Friday (June 14, 2024).

According to Panin Sekuritas, the index's movement today was partly influenced by the weakening of the rupiah, which briefly breached the psychological level of Rp16,300 per US$.

451 stocks closed lower today, 180 were stagnant, and 140 rose.

TOPS was today's top loser, plummeting 50%, followed by TRON and SGER, which fell by 34.54% and 13.73%, respectively.

On the other hand, today's top gainers were TAXI and SBAT, both soaring 100%, followed by CGAS, which rose 34.23%.

Asian stock exchanges closed mixed this afternoon. The Nikkei index rose 0.24% to 38,814.60, the Hang Seng index fell 0.94% to 17,941.77, the Shanghai index rose 0.12% to 3,032.62, and the Straits Times index fell 0.81% to 3,397.55.
