Crude Palm Oil (CPO) price on the Rotterdam Commodity Exchange remains at US$ 1,100 per metric ton (Sunday, July 31, 2022)

The price of CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange this morning until 09.09 WIB was at US$ 1,100 per metric ton, data as of Sunday, July 31, 2022. The CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange only moved 3.77% compared to the closing price on Thursday, July 28, 2022, which was traded at US$ 1,060 per metric ton. It is estimated that the movement of CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange today will be in the range of US$ 1,100 - 1,225 per metric ton.

As shown on investing.com, the CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has fallen by 7.17% in a week. Compared to 30 days earlier, the CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange is still lower by -21.43%.

Before Russia's attack on Ukraine, the CPO price on the Rotterdam spot market was still at US$ 1,640 per ton (2/23/2022). After the invasion, the CPO price soared for two weeks.

Compared to the end of last year, which was still at US$ 1,305 per ton, the palm oil price has plummeted by -15.71% (Year to Date/YTD). Similarly, compared to the lowest point on June 16, 2021, the CPO price has soared by 12.82%.

The increase in CPO prices also impacted the price of cooking oil in Indonesia. The price of cooking oil in various regions is above Rp 20,000 per liter. Cooking oil was even scarce in the market.

However, for a one-year data range, CPO on the Rotterdam commodity exchange has actually experienced a decline. The previous highest record reached US$ 2,010 per metric ton.

For the period January-July 2022, the CPO price on the Rotterdam commodity exchange showed a downward trend, moving -16.67% compared to the beginning of the year, which was at US$ 1,320 per metric ton.
