Indonesia's Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) Closed Lower; Prajogo Pangestu's BREN and CUAN Stocks Both Corrected (Thursday, November 16, 2023)

The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) weakened by 0.197 points or 0% to 6,958.008 at the close of trading on Thursday (16/11/2023).

Today's index weakening was supported by several Prajogo Pangestu's stocks. CUAN, for example, weakened by 3.27% to Rp6,650, and BREN corrected by 0.44% to Rp5,700.

Based on the IDX-IC Sectoral Index, seven sectors weakened today, led by the property sector, which fell the most at -0.61%, followed by the consumer staples sector and the energy sector, which fell by -0.41% and -0.40%, respectively.

Meanwhile, three other sectors increased. The transportation & logistics sector led the way with a 0.44% increase, followed by the industrial and financial sectors, which rose by 0.23% and 0.08%, respectively.

According to RTI Business data, the frequency of stock trading on the domestic exchange today was 1.09 million transactions.

A total of 15.43 billion shares changed hands, with a transaction value reaching 8.97 trillion.

NATO was today's top loser, plunging 14.21%, followed by MBTO and FIRE, which contracted by 13.04% and 11.46%, respectively.

Meanwhile, today's top gainer was PSDN, which soared 34.04%, followed by TNCA and MKTR, which strengthened by 18.78% and 15.75%, respectively.

A total of 290 stocks weakened today, 240 stocks were stagnant, and 218 stocks strengthened.

Regional Asian stock exchanges showed varied movement this afternoon. The Nikkei Index weakened by 0.36% to 33,398.89, the Hang Seng Index weakened by 1.36% to 17,832.82, the Shanghai Index weakened by 0.71% to 3,050.93, and the Straits Times Index strengthened by 0.03% to 3,133.55.
