February 2022 State Sukuk Auction Results Reach Rp11 Trillion

The Indonesian government conducted an auction of Sukuk, or Syariah-based State Securities (SBSN), through Bank Indonesia on February 8, 2022.

Sukuk are state-issued debt securities based on Sharia principles, auctioned to investors and the general public.

Funds raised from the Sukuk auction will be managed by the government according to Sharia principles, such as being free from gambling elements and ambiguity (gharar), and free from riba (interest).

The Sukuk or SBSN auctioned on February 8, 2022, consisted of six series, with tenors ranging from 2 to 25 years and yields ranging from 4 to 6.75 percent.

Details of the Sukuk auction results on February 8, 2022, are as follows:

1. SPNS09082022 (new issuance)

Sukuk or SBSN series SPNS09082022 received the highest total bids of Rp14.480 trillion. However, only Rp2.150 trillion was awarded.

2. PBS031 (reopening)

Next, Sukuk series PBS031 received total bids of Rp3.550 trillion, with Rp2.650 trillion awarded.

3. PBS032 (reopening)

Then, Sukuk series PBS032 received total bids of Rp4.562 trillion, with Rp3.750 trillion awarded.

4. PBS029 (reopening)

Sukuk series PBS029 received total bids of Rp3.291 trillion, with Rp1.000 trillion awarded.

5. PBS034 (reopening)

Sukuk series PBS034 received total bids of Rp1.985 trillion, with Rp0.400 trillion awarded.

6. PBS033 (reopening)

Finally, Sukuk series PBS033 received the lowest total bids of Rp1.517 trillion, with Rp1.050 trillion awarded.

In total, bids received for the Sukuk auction on February 8, 2022, reached Rp29.385 trillion. The total amount awarded across all Sukuk series was Rp11 trillion.
