Bakrie Group, operating in mining, manufacturing, and infrastructure, reported profits for the January-September 2019 period. However, other sectors recorded losses.
PT Darma Henwa Tbk. (DEWA) achieved a net profit of Rp 16.9 billion, a 44.3% increase from the same period the previous year. PT Bumi Resources Tbk. (BUMI), another Bakrie Group mining company, also reported a net profit of Rp 1.1 trillion as of September 2019. However, this figure plummeted by 63% compared to the same period the previous year.
Furthermore, PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) and PT Bumi Resources Mineral Tbk. (BRMS) recorded profits of Rp 342.3 billion and Rp 14.4 billion, respectively. These two companies had incurred losses totaling Rp 1 trillion in Q3 2018.
Unfortunately, several other Bakrie Group business units experienced losses in Q3 2019. These include PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk (UNSP) in the palm oil plantation sector, PT Visi Media Asia Tbk (VIVA) in the media sector, and the property company PT Bakrieland Development Tbk (ELTY).
