Indonesian billionaire Prajogo Pangestu's wealth saw the fastest growth globally.

Bloomberg analysis shows that Prajogo Pangestu, one of Indonesia's richest people, became the world's fastest-growing billionaire in November 2023.

The petrochemical company PT Barito Pacific's boss's net worth is recorded at US$21.6 billion or Rp332.25 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp15,382 per US$). This places Prajogo as the 77th richest person globally.

Prajogo's wealth has increased by US$17.1 billion or Rp263.03 trillion year-to-date (YTD) in fiscal year 2023. This represents a 379% increase.

The largest component of Prajogo's wealth is his stake in Barito Renewables Energy (BREN), valued at US$11.1 billion or Rp170.74 trillion. Prajogo is the controlling shareholder in this company.

"He owns a 71% stake, according to a September 2023 report from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). This includes shares held by his son, Agus, which are credited to the billionaire to reflect his status as the founder," Bloomberg wrote on its website.

In addition, his wealth includes shares in BRPT (US$4.94 billion or Rp75.98 trillion), CUAN (US$4 billion or Rp61.52 trillion), TPIA (US$1.26 billion or Rp19.38 trillion), and cash (US$200 million or Rp3.07 trillion).

Other billionaires with the fastest wealth growth are Judy Love at 245% (YTD), followed by Jensen Huang at 215% (YTD), Eduardo Saverin at 167% (YTD), and Mark Zuckerberg at 164% (YTD).

Conversely, some billionaires experienced a decrease in their wealth: Pang Kang (-44% YTD), Xavier Niel (-48% YTD), Gautam Adani (-50% YTD), Robert Pera (-52% YTD), and Carl Icahn (-71% YTD).
